At the upcoming Picnic, spectators will have the unique opportunity to see the Piper Cub L4H ‘Grasshopper’ in the air - a military version of the famous American school and tourist aircraft produced between 1939 and 1947.

The example shown in the photo was produced in 1946. The aircraft's wings with a wooden girder came from wartime stocks. The SP-SAVO was brought back to Poland in 2020 and rebuilt to flying condition. It returned to flying in 2022, more than 35 years after its last flight in America. The aircraft bears the colours of the 82nd Airborne Army from the period of the Allied landings in Normandy. The distinctive invasion stripes were worn by all Allied aircraft involved in the operation from 6 June 1944 onwards.

Today, it is a symbol of aviation history and actively participates in demonstrations and educational actions, accompanying the History and Modernity Foundation in the project “Let's build the RWD-6 together”.
