Science and Aviation Picnic is an extraordinary opportunity to see a Polish-made multi-purpose helicopter, manufactured by PZL Świdnik.

The PZL W-3 Sokół is a medium helicopter used for a variety of tasks, including transport, search and rescue, combat support, and reconnaissance. The W-3W variant is armed and equipped with a GSz-23³ cannon and weapon hover points.

The PZL W-3 Sokół helicopters were sent as part of the Polish Military Contingent to Iraq, where they were used for medical evacuation tasks, monitoring and protection of roads and strategic infrastructure (pipelines, power lines), combat rescue, convoy cover and escort or QRF (quick reaction force) operations, as well as transport of personnel and cargo. In the first five months alone, the helicopters have flown more than 100 hours each.

The PZL W-3 Sokół will be on display as part of a static exhibition.
