During the Picnic in Dęblin, the public will have a unique opportunity to see a replica of the RWD-5bis aircraft in flight - a machine that has gone down in the history of Polish aviation.

It was in this aircraft that Captain Pilot Stanisław Skarżyński made a spectacular flight over the Atlantic in 1933, setting an FAI record in the category of aircraft up to 450 kg. His feat became a symbol of Polish courage and navigational precision, inspiring successive generations of pilots.

Thanks to the efforts of the Experimental Aviation Association (SLE), the RWD-5 replica, built in 2000, is a reminder of the heritage of Polish aviation. The association strives to maintain historical traditions, memory and highlight the Polish contribution to the development of world aviation, encouraging new generations to uphold these values.

The replica of the RWD-5 aircraft enjoys great success at various aviation events alongside world-famous military fighters and many other modern and historical machines. The aircraft, which delighted the public at the AeroExpo 2024 World Exhibition, will now present itself to aviation enthusiasts in Dęblin!

The Science and Aviation Picnic in Dęblin will be full of excitement, and the flight of the RWD-5bis replica will undoubtedly become one of its highlights!
