During the upcoming Picnic, historical aviation fans will have a unique opportunity to see the legendary DH82 Tiger Moth aircraft in action!

The machine, with the registration T-7230 RAF, which we will see this Saturday, was produced in 1939. Entered service as a Royal Air Force training aircraft exactly on September 16, 1940 - at the height of the fighting during the “Battle of Britain.” It is not only the oldest flying aircraft in Poland, but also a veteran of this landmark battle, which decided the fate of Europe and the world. Moreover, between 2007 and 2014, a copy of the T-7230 was flown by veterans of the Polish Air Force, including Jadwiga Pilsudska, Antoni Tomiczek, Jerzy Główczewski, who received training on Tiger Moth aircraft during the war.

Since 2007, its owner has been Jacek Mainka.

Tiger Moths were part of the Polish EFTS 25 school in Hucknall and served in Polish squadrons as auxiliary and liaison aircraft.
