The DHC-1 “Chipmunk” is a training and training aircraft designed by Eng. Vsevolod J. Yakimyuk and Eng. Wieslaw Stępniewski.
It was created as a successor to the obsolete DH-82 Tiger Moth biplane. Its prototype made its first flight on May 22, 1946. After receiving positive evaluations, serial production of this machine was started at the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada plant.
The aircraft was widely used in military and civil aviation, enjoying great popularity in many countries.
In Poland, the only copy - a DHC-1 with registration SP-YAC - belongs to Jacek Mainka, who brought it back and rebuilt it between 2010 and 2014. The machine bears the RAF's 1951 paint scheme and is a unique witness to aviation history.
Don't miss the opportunity to see it live!
